If the last post made it look like Maua was all work and no play, that wasn’t completely true. There’s always time for a little bit of fun no matter where I am!

The best part of the trip was definitely the safari (means journey, in Swahili) at the national park. After pretending to be an under-18 Kenyan (would you believe that the entrance fee went from US$50 to US$1.50 just from that little mis-information), the gang and I had quite an adventure! We saw lions, giraffes, elephants, buffalo, antelope, and more within the first 30 minutes!!
Baboons.
Lioness.
The big cat!
We had the whole park to ourselves!
Elephants.
Vultures dining on something...
Giraffe.
Some sort of antelope.
Some sort of skeleton. Maybe an elephant...
Buffalo.

Since I was "so close," I decided that I had to see Mount Kenya. (It's in the little mountain that you see in the distance). We woke up at 6 am to drive to a nearby viewpoint and waited for the clouds to clear so that I could see the mountain's faint peak!
Nice girl! You are really having fun, now this is the real africa:)
ReplyDeleteI would have just been in a fret if I was near that lioness! Golly this is all exciting and adventurous! Kudos for your bravery =)
ReplyDeleteI hope you make time to get your hair done, and that you bought some lovely fabrics, as well as had them sewn? I hear ready made is also very nice and affordable.
I cannot wait to see what you ended up purchasing!
=)
